These terms and conditions apply to all orders placed through the Wirral Aquatics website. By placing an order or using our website, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before purchasing.
For in-store purchases, your statutory consumer rights apply as normal.

Placing an Order
By placing an order you are making an offer to purchase. Your order is accepted once we confirm it and payment has been processed. You will receive a confirmation email once this is complete.
Please review your order carefully before submitting. Once confirmed, we may be unable to accommodate changes or cancellations. If we need to amend or cancel your order, we will contact you promptly and refund any payment taken.
We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion.
Pricing and Payment
All prices on our website are displayed in GBP and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Shipping costs are calculated and shown separately at checkout.
Prices are subject to change without notice. The price charged will always be the price shown at the time your order was placed.
We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Payment is required before your order is accepted and processed.
Shipping and Delivery
We ship to UK addresses only. International shipping is not available at this time.
Orders are processed within 1–3 business days, Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays. A dispatch confirmation email will be sent once your order is on its way.
Standard UK delivery typically takes 2–5 business days from the date of dispatch. All delivery times are estimates and cannot be guaranteed. Delays caused by courier disruptions, weather conditions, or peak periods are outside our control.
Please ensure your delivery address is accurate and complete at checkout. We are unable to accept responsibility for failed or delayed deliveries resulting from an incorrect address.
Live aquatic animals are dispatched on specific days to ensure safe arrival. Dispatch days will be communicated at checkout or by email prior to dispatch. Please refer to our Refund Policy for full details of our Arrive Alive Guarantee.
Cancellations
You have the right to cancel an online order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason. To cancel, please contact us within this period by email or via our contact form, including your order number.
Goods must be returned within 14 days of cancelling. Return postage is your responsibility. On receipt of the returned goods, we will refund the product price and original standard delivery charge within 14 days.
The following items are not eligible for cancellation or return under this policy:
- Live animals and perishable goods, including live fish, invertebrates, corals, and live or frozen food.
- Custom-built or made-to-order items.
Returns and Refunds

90-day return window for online orders
For unused and undamaged non-perishable goods purchased online, we offer a 90-day return window from the date of delivery. This is in addition to your standard cancellation rights.
Faulty goods
If an item arrives faulty or develops a fault, please contact us as soon as possible. Visible damage on delivery should be reported within 48 hours to assist our investigation.
- Within 30 days of purchase: you are entitled to a full refund, repair, or replacement.
- Between 30 days and 6 months: we will arrange a repair or replacement in the first instance. If this does not resolve the issue, a refund will be offered.
- After 6 months: the same remedies apply, though you may be required to demonstrate the fault existed at the time of purchase.
Red Sea and TMC products
For faults with Red Sea or TMC products, we may ask you to contact their technical support teams in the first instance, as they are often best placed to resolve issues quickly. Your contract remains with Wirral Aquatics Ltd and we remain responsible for ensuring your rights are met.
Items not eligible for return
Outside of a fault or your statutory rights, the following items cannot be returned:
- Used filtration equipment or any product that has had water pass through it.
- Glass tanks delivered by us — faulty individual components will be replaced under warranty.
- Live animals and perishable goods — please refer to our Refund Policy and Arrive Alive Guarantee for the applicable procedure.
Privacy
Personal information collected through our website is used to process and fulfil your order. For full details of how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
Our store is hosted by Shopify, and some data is processed by Shopify as part of providing the platform.
Accuracy of Information
We take care to ensure all information on our website is accurate, but errors can occasionally occur in product descriptions, pricing, or availability. We reserve the right to correct any errors prior to accepting an order. Where an issue arises with a confirmed order, we will contact you before dispatch.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

We may update these terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page. Continued use of the website following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
